Local area resident, Amy Searcy, has launched a 12 week community service course that will offer tips on nutrition and exercise, paired with a hint of competition and a lot of fun. There is a $35 entrance fee to join the challenge, of which $25 will be paid out in cash and prizes to the Top 3 “Biggest Losers (Winners!)” who lose the biggest percentage of their weight. It is based on percentage which makes it equal competition for both men and women.

Participant Janet C., who is leading in a current challenge says, “I almost didn’t come, and now I’m so glad I did. I’ve lost 12 lbs so far in 10 weeks and have learned so much! I love the accountability; it has helped me stay on track. I totally enjoy the people, the weekly handout sheets and the short discussion. I’m joining the next challenge and bringing my sister with me this time!”

“The challenge gives us a chance to help fight the battle of obesity by educating people about a better overall lifestyle. The goal is for people to feel good and look great and maintain a healthier lifestyle,” Searcy says. Specific rules are in place to keep everyone consistent. Fail to weigh in? Pay a $5.00 fee, as well as a $1.00 fee per pound gained. These fees will be added to the cash pay out and awarded to the person who lost the most overall inches. There is no specific weight loss program required to join the challenge.

Participants may use any weight-loss program they would like, whether it be Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, Herbalife or a customized plan of their own. Searcy will work with each person to find what works best for them.

Seating is limited. For more information and to pre-register contact Amy at 816-345-9868.
