Lee’s Summit Republican Appointed to Chair New Disabilities Committee

and to Budget, Appropriations, Ways and Means and Job Creation Committees

Jefferson City, MO. — District 47 State Representative Jeff Grisamore, R-Lee’s Summit/Greenwood, was sworn in last Wednesday, January 5th at the Missouri Capitol in Jefferson City, joined by his wife, Mary and their children, including his three sons who are members of the Missouri Army National Guard.

Entering his third term of public service to the citizens of the 47th District, Grisamore has been appointed to the powerful House Budget Committee and continues to serve on the House Appropriations Committee for Health, Mental Health and Social Services.

Grisamore has also been appointed to committees for Ways and Means and International Trade and Job Creation.

On Wednesday, January 12th Missouri Speaker of the House, Steve Tilley, R-Perryville, announced that he is forming a new Special House Committee to focus on disabilities’ issues and named Representative Grisamore as Chairman.

A press conference announcing the new disabilities committee that Grisamore will be chairing is expected next week at the Capitol.

Grisamore continues to serve as Chairman of the Missouri Children’s Services Commission and on the Governor’s Council on Disability, as well as on the Missouri Assistive Technology Advisory Council.

“I am deeply honored to have the privilege to continue representing the citizens of Lee’s Summit and Greenwood in the Missouri House of Representatives,” said Grisamore.

Grisamore, who was first elected in 2006, has become the senior member of the House Republican delegation in eastern Jackson County . Joining Grisamore in the House Republican delegation in eastern Jackson County are six new Republican members, Representatives Gary Cross and Mike Cierpiot of Lee’s Summit, Noel Torpey and Brent Lasater of Independence, and Sheila Solon and Jeanie Lauer of Blue Springs.
