Two persons injured in accident on US-50 Highway

On Wednesday, 11/24/2010 at approximately 12:45p.m., officers responded to the area of US 50 Highway and NW Chipman Road on an injury accident. Upon arrival, officers determined that two vehicles were involved.

Initial reports indicate that a driver travelling in the eastbound lanes of 50 highway near Chipman Road lost control of his vehicle and crossed over the median. After crossing the median, the driver struck a vehicle travelling in the westbound lanes. The driver who was travelling eastbound and lost control was a 34 year old white male from Pleasant Hill, Missouri, the driver in the westbound lanes was a 33 year old white male from Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

Both drivers were taken by ambulance from the scene to area hospitals with minor injuries. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
