Suspects arrested in recent Lee’s Summit and Greenwood auto break-ins

Beginning on or about the early evening of 10-04-2010, numerous unlocked automobiles had items stolen from the interior of said automobiles by some suspect(s) along with one automobile that was parked in the driveway of a residence with the keys in the ignition was stolen by said suspect(s).  In addition, there were numerous unlocked automobiles which had items stolen from their interiors that had keys to them located inside said automobile interiors.

The Lee’s Summit, Missouri Police Department received information that there was some suspect(s) looking into automobiles parked in the parking lot of businesses located in the area of Missouri 291 Highway and Missouri 150 Highway.

In addition, the Lee’s Summit, Missouri Police Department stopped the suspect(s) in the area of Ward & Sheer Rd. in Lee’s Summit, Missouri in the stolen automobile and arrested two male suspects who were 17 years of age and 18 years of age.

One suspect resides in Greenwood, Missouri and the other resides in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.  Furthermore, the Lee’s Summit, Missouri Police Department recovered items from the two suspects that were believed to be stolen from Greenwood and Lee’s Summit, Missouri areas.

Greenwood officers made contact with the victim who owned the automobile that the suspects were caught operating. The victim did not know the automobile had been stolen by the suspects from the victim’s driveway until said officers had notified the victim.

The two aforementioned suspects are suspicioned in stealing items from automobiles in the last few days in the Lee’s Summit, Missouri area.  Lastly, the Greenwood, Missouri Police Department will be working with the Lee’s Summit, Missouri Police Department in pursuing state charges on the two aforementioned suspects for stealing of items from automobiles along with the theft of an automobile, tampering, property damage, trespassing and possession of stolen property.  No further information at this time.
