Speakers, books sales and writing workshops are aimed at writers and readers alike.
The MCC-Longview Literary Festival is not just for avid writers… it’s for all readers, writers, publishers, poets, song writers, copy writers and everyone in between.
Once again the Literary Festival returns to the Mel Aytes Education Center with two days packed with activities for readers and writers of all ages. Meet with renowned authors, editors and publishers from around the area, or stop by to purchase books from local and national authors.
As part of the two-day festival, participants can also learn from professional authors about their craft and how you can start writing your own piece of literature at home. The Dead Horse Society will present writing workshops including Elements of Fiction, Writing Dialogue, and Creatures of Light and Dark: Biology in Fiction.
This year’s keynote speaker will be former Kansas City Star book editor John Mark Eberhart (2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 16, in the Education Center).
