Lee’s Summit West Titans vs St. Joseph Central Indians

Last friday, Lee’s Summit West running back Darnay Sessions ran for two touchdowns and the West defense turned in a dominant performance as the Titans’ record went to 2-0 after a 30-0 defeat of the St. Joseph Central Indians under the lights at Lee’s Summit West Stadium.
The game started slowly as neither team could get their offenses moving in the early going. LSW committed four holding penalties in the first quarter as the offense struggled to establish any offensive rhythm.
That all changed in the second quarter as the Titans recovered a loose ball after a Titans punt touched a St. Joe defender at the Indian 15 yard line. LSW converted that turnover into a 29 yard field goal by Darik Geha. That score seemed to help the Titans to get their offensive legs under them as their offensive line, led by 6′ 3″, 290 pound junior tackle Evan Boehm, ran through the St. Joe Central defense for touchdowns on their next two drives to take a 17-0 lead.
Sessions followed Boehm into the end zone for the Titans’ first touchdown, and quarterback Luke Knott ended the first half scoring with a beautiful 35 yard run around left end.
In the second half, LSW continued to wear down the Indians with a stellar play from the West running game and timely passing from Knott to receivers Austin Panko and Brandon Smith. The Titan defense, led by standouts Spencer Brown, Nick Ramirez, and Ben Poeschl, completely shut down the Indians offensive attack for the entire contest. Next week the Titans travel to to the Northland to take on the North Kansas City Hornets.
