Local Lee’s Summit resident and business owner to be on this season’s TLC BBQ Pitmasters

Local Lee’s Summit resident and Business owner, Jeff Spurgeon, to be on this seasons BBQ Pitmasters show on TLC. Jeff has won multiple state and national championships, including overall Grand Champion at the American Royal BBQ, The Jack Daniel’s World Championship, and is nationally ranked in all catagories in KCBS. Jeff Spurgeon is the owner of K.C. Customs LLC, a local RV, boat, and motorcycle repair facility. The business is responsible for making the “Trash Can Cookers” that Jeff has become known for, and that they used on the show. Jeff was asked to cook with a team from DeLand, Florida – FIREHOUSE BBQ.
The hot new season of BBQ Pitmasters is cooked up and ready to be served starting August 12 at 9 PM CST on TLC. TLC has reimaged the series and created its own competition, designed to find the country’s best BBQ cook and this year’s BBQ Pitmaster. The first five of the series’ six episodes feature different competitions, each one selecting a winning team that moves to the grand finale. Those five teams compete head to head, and only one can walk away with the largest prize ever awarded in competitive barbecue: $100,000.
