“Green on Green” Sustainability Fair

The City of Lee’s Summit, in partnership with Lee’s Summit 360 strategic planning group, is hosting our first-ever “Green on Green” Sustainability Fair in the Fall of 2010.

on Green Street between 2nd and 3rd Streets in front of City Hall
The purpose of this event is to educate Lee’s Summit residents and businesses about simple and complex sustainable practices that can be implemented at home and work so as to improve the sustainability of our community as a whole.

Businesses and entities, who, as a part of their mission, openly sell, support, or promote green goods or practices are invited to host a booth at the fair. Booth sizes are 10′x10′ and cost $35 each. Only one booth space will be allowed per vendor and a limited number of booth spaces will be available per business type (i.e., nurseries, builders, etc.) in an effort to offer residents a variety of sustainable practices they can implement in their lives. Vendors may sell their products at their booth provided they have a State Vendors license and a local/business occupational license. Each vendor will be responsible for their own sales, including sales tax.
Since this is our first environmentally-focused fair, anticipated attendance is unknown; however, the goal is to have at least 200 people in attendance. The fair will be promoted using, but not limited to, the City’s website, the City’s government access channel, the City’s quarterly newsletter (City Scope), newspapers, social media, banners, posters, flyers, etc. In addition, giveaways are planned for the first set of patrons to arrive at the fair (the type and number of giveaways will be announced at a later date) and artwork created for our 4th Grade Recycled Artwork Contest is planned to be displayed and judged at the fair.
If your business or entity is interested in hosting a booth at the Lee’s Summit “Green on Green” Sustainability Fair, please complete the registration form and “Hold Harmless” Agreement and submit along with your payment, to the Environmental Coordinator.
