Clowning around at National Night Out in Raymore

The 2010 National Night Out event, held in Recreation Park and coordinated by Raymore Police Sergeant Aly Abdelgawad, went very well on Tuesday, August 3. While the warm weather may have kept some away, attendees were treated to numerous displays of equipment and information booths, as well as games and entertainment for the kids.

Thank you to Price Chopper, Wal-Mart, Quik’ N Tasty, Dairy Queen, Culver’s, Wonder Bread and Target for all of the donated food items that helped make the night enjoyable. South Metro Fire personnel handled the cooking of the hot dogs while Boy Scout Troop 32 manned the concession stand to help pass out treats.

The Raymore Police Department would also like to thank our Public Safety brethren for their assistance; ATF, Cass County Sherriff’s Department, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Life Flight EMS and numerous members of the South Metro Fire Protection District were on hand with equipment displays and helpful public information. Also a big thanks to Q-104, Gerty the Clown and friends, the Posse Car Club and the folks from Sit Means Sit for their participation and entertainment.

Finally, a special thanks to the folks of Raymore Parks and Recreation for their ongoing support and ingenuity in helping set the stage for a great night out for the citizens of Raymore. We apologize to anyone not mentioned because without the wonderful volunteerism, donations and support, this event would not be possible.
