Seven Lee’s Summit R-7 School District elementary school library media centers are offering extended summer hours this June and July to encourage reading among local children. Students from all R-7 elementary schools are welcome to check out books at any of the seven locations.
Extended library times will be afternoons and early evenings June 1 through July 29 with each of the school libraries open one day each week. Specific schedules for schools are 3 to 7 p.m. Mondays for Highland Park and Longview Farm Elementary Schools, Tuesdays for Meadow Lane and Pleasant Lea Elementary Schools, Wednesdays for Sunset Valley and Greenwood Elementary Schools and Thursdays for Westview Elementary.
This is the third year in a row that R-7 elementary schools have offered this program, and district staff members have been pleased with the results.
