Local churches host Vacation Bible School, a summer favorite

Summer is upon us and wouldn’t it be nice to have a place for all the little kids to go and have fun without spending money? Well how about Vacation Bible School? According to Wikipedia, Vacation Bible School (VBS) dates back as far as 1894, originating in Illinois. Today most programs encompass a wide array of activities for the children, including Bible stories, crafts, songs and skits put on by church volunteers. The kids love the social interaction and playing games, all while learning about the Bible.
You do not have to be a member of the host church to attend VBS. We’ve included a list of local churches that are holding VBS this summer in the Greenwood/Lee’s Summit Community. If your church is not listed, please feel free to post a comment below with the VBS information. We will update the list and include your church in next year’s original listing.
