Greenwood First Baptist Church Youth Ministry is having a garage sale Saturday, June 5 to raise financial support for missions and ministry. Money raised will help youth fund summer mission activities in the Greenwood community. Any money left over will be applied to the remodeling process of the Student Center giving it updates creating a more attractive place for Greenwood’s teenagers. The garage sale will be held in the Student Center located at 1501 W. Main in Greenwood, MO.
The mission activity for First Baptist Youth Ministry includes two events this summer. First, we will be going to St. Louis and join Global Encounter Ministries and many other youth group from Missouri and surrounding states. Participants will be involved in seeing people come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and helping revitalize and encourage struggling churches. This trip will not only minister to the St. Louis area but will also train students to be future leaders.
Our second event is to lead Back Yard Bible Clubs throughout the Greenwood community. Youth begin training for these events June 6. We will then schedule a week to host a Bible Club in back yards where youth will teach a Bible story, lead games and teach about missionaries. Not only will these events have an impact on children’s lives, but it will be an opportunity for youth to grow spiritually as they put their beliefs into action. Please look for signs this summer advertising a Back Yard Bible Club in your neighborhood.
If you have anything you would like to donate to the garage sale, please call the First Baptist office at 816-537-6491 and ask for Nathan. Items can be dropped off at the Student Center, or if needed we can possibly pick them for you. We appreciate your support.
