Lee’s Summit West students capture awards in Panache fashion competition

Students enrolled in clothing construction at Lee’s Summit West High School recently captured awards in the 29th annual fashion contest at Penn Valley Community College, known as Panache. College students present their fashion portfolios and high school students model garments they made in this year’s clothing construction class.
The students’ garments are judged for quality construction by a team of experts the week prior to the event. LSWHS students receiving awards were in the following categories: Recycle/Redesign, second place, Tiera Jackson; Casual/Active Wear, honorable mention, Katy Ehrhard; Casual/Active Wear, second place, Sarah Muir; Casual/Active Wear, first place, Megan Jackman; Eveningwear, Honorable Mention, Nikki Ducklow; Eveningwear, second place, Jayme Emry; Eveningwear, first place, and Katy Ehrhard; Golden Needle Award, Katy Ehrhard.
Other participants from LSWHS were Brittany Kallenberger, Ashley Elrod, Kayla Redd, Sydney Hocksprung, Kayla West, Madison King, Haley McCoun, Emily Zitzman, Andrea Wells, Kelly Ducklow and Rose Moscoso.
