Lee’s Summit students capture awards in International Reading Association Poster Contest

Archit Pramanik, a seventh-grader at Bernard Campbell Middle School, recently won first place in the Missouri International Reading Association Poster contest. His artwork will be featured on the cover of the Missouri International Reading Association magazine.

Archit qualified for state by winning at the local level. In all, nine Lee’s Summit R-7 School District students were recognized through the Lee’s Summit R-7 School District area competition.

Local winners in the kindergarten through second grade category are Molly Davis, first place, Highland Park Elementary; Sophie Penland, second place, Highland Park Elementary; and Sydney Allen, third place, Richardson Elementary.

Winners in third through fifth grades are Baylee Yeisley, first place, Richardson Elementary; Kellie Helmick, second place, Prairie View Elementary; and Lea Spiers, third place, Westview Elementary.

Students winning in sixth through eighth grades are Archit Pramanik, first place, Bernard Campbell Middle School; Delaney Pummill, second place, Summit Lakes Middle School; and Harper Leach, third place, Cedar Creek Elementary.
