Lee’s Summit R-7 School District students capture top honors at State Music Festival

Lee’s Summit R-7 School District music students recently captured top awards at the Missouri State Music festival. The highest rating given is a “1” or “superior” rating. The next highest rating given is a “2” rating or “excellent.”
Lee’s Summit High School band students receiving “1” ratings on their solos were Tony Bednarik, snare drum; Rebekah Cooper, trombone; Alex Cusimano, timpani; Tim Good, snare drum; Jonah Graves, snare drum; Emily Griffith, clarinet; Allison Grigsby, alto saxophone; Mark Hansen, snare drum; Andrea Hendrix, clarinet; Kyle Henson, euphonium; Lauren Knutson, clarinet; Analiese Motta, snare drum; Morgan Ramsey, clarinet; Jason Ringer, bassoon; and Alexis Rolls, horn.
LSHS band ensembles receiving a “1” ratings were Emily Griffith, Lauren Knutson, Andrea Hendrix, clarinet trio; and Derek Boren, Charissa Buckner, Lauren Chambers, Rebekah Cooper, Ryan Kneib, brass quintet.
LSHS band students receiving “2” ratings on their solos were Jennifer Rhoades, Alex Cusimano and Jason Ringer.
LSHS band ensembles receiving “2” ratings were Jozianne Brennan, Jennifer Rhoades, Jessica Rhoades; Wes Fitzgibbons, Allison Grigsby, Kate Lewis, Chris Williams; and Ethan Catron, Rebekah Cooper, Kelsey Kincade, David Michaelis.
LSHS Symphonic Band and Percussion Ensemble received “1” ratings on their performances and LSHS Concert Band received a “2” rating.
