The Lee’s Summit West High School winter musical cast has been selected to perform at the state capitol on March 16. Members of the cast will perform “What I Did For Love” from “A Chorus Line” as part of the Fine Arts Education Day, sponsored by the Missouri Alliance for Arts Education.
While in Jefferson City, the students will also meet with Rep. Jeff Grisamore and receive a tour of the senate chambers from Todd Scott, Sen. Matt Bartle’s chief of staff.
Fine Arts Education Day is an annual event to advocate for the importance of arts in education. Students from around the state converge on the capitol to meet with their representatives and senators. This is the first time a Lee’s Summit theatre group has been selected to perform. The performances will take place in the Capitol Rotunda during the lunch hour and are open to the public. The cast of “A Chorus Line” is scheduled to perform at 12:45 p.m.
