Lee’s Summit R-7 students recognized with NAIA Champions of Character High School Awards

Five Lee’s Summit R-7 School District students were honored March 22 with NAIA Champions of Character High School Awards. The students received the award during the national semifinal games, held at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City.
Students (pictured from left) receiving the award are Erica Doane and Lauren Fender, both of Lee’s Summit West High School; BJ Dunbar and Codi Fritchie, both of Lee’s Summit North High School; and Samantha Mosier of Lee’s Summit High School.
The award goes to student athletes who show strong character traits in the areas of respect, responsibility, integrity, servant leadership and sportsmanship – both in and out of competition.
