At the conclusion of the Board of Alderman meeting on August 24th, 2009 there was an altercation that resulted in charges being filed against Bob Williams of Pooch Parlor for disturbing the peace and disorderly conduct. The trial was held on Tuesday, February 10, 2010. The testimony of the witnesses demonstrated the extreme political division in our city and the short tempers both sides have with each other.

At the end of the trial the Judge ruled that the city had not fulfilled its burden of proof on the first charge of disturbing the peace by accusing the Mayor of only recommending his “butt boys” to the empty Ward 1 Alderman seat, so Williams was cleared of that charge. However, the judge did find Williams guilt of disorderly conduct for shoving Alderman VanAcker in the back and causing him to stumble into Alderman Payne. Williams was given a 2-year, unsupervised probation.
