Greenwood Mo Candidate Interviews are Underway

First and foremost we would like to say thank you to everyone who is participating in the online discussion here at The GreenSummit Dispatch. This online conversation will help us all to make an informed decision on Election Day.
Secondly – we are in the process of “interviewing” all of the candidates. We are sending out a questionnaire to each candidate and will begin publishing those questions and answers soon. We are asking a mix of questions – about the candidate’s background, family, work history, management style, their involvement in other organizations and a series of questions about specific issues Greenwood is currently facing. We are endeavoring to give the candidates an opportunity to paint a complete picture of themselves so that we can all get to know them a little better. If you are a candidate and you have not received an email from me please use the “Contact Us” form at the top of the page to make sure that we have your contact information.
We ask that you continue to engage in the discussion online here. Opinions, articles, comments and events expressed or embodied in published content are not necessarily endorsed by or representative of the opinion of The GreenSummit Dispatch, its owners, or contributors. Those opinions and that discussion are welcome but we want to remind everyone that we, as a news organization, are not endorsing any candidate and are non-partisan. We want to see our city prosper, we want what is best for our city and we want to see candidates win this election who will work with sitting Alderman VanAcker and each other and who will move us past the troubles and in-fighting we’ve seen over the past few years. We don’t know who those candidates are but hope that these first interviews along with the following discussions will help everyone make an informed vote.
Finally – we want to see a record turn-out at the polls this April. We encourage you to get out and vote and to encourage your friends and neighbors to vote too. Voter turn-out at the last election was pitiful, lets do better this time Greenwood.
