Lee’s Summit Homicide Investigation – Ronnie L. Feitz

On Thursday (01-21-10) at 2:30 pm officers were dispatched to the 500 block of NW Ivy Place on a death investigation. The department was notified of the death by the employer of the victim who found him down inside the residence. The employer went to the residence to check on the victim, 56 year old Ronnie L. Feitz who lived alone, after he did not report for work the past few days.
Being an unattended death detectives were also dispatched to the residence and deemed the incident suspicious. A warrant was secured for the residence to maintain control of the scene and facilitate an in depth recovery of evidence as needed. In addition detectives requested the assistance of the Kansas City Crime Lab. Detectives from Lee’s Summit PD and the Crime Lab technicians remained at the residence most of the evening processing the scene and recovering evidence.
Based on their evidence and information obtained from the autopsy this morning detectives with the police department are identifying the incident as a homicide investigation. To maintain integrity of the investigation in the early stages detectives have only released the name of the victim, listed above and no further at this time.
