The Lee’s Summit West Titans took their 1-1 record on the road to Fort Osage tonight, looking to build momentum off last week’s shut out of Truman.  The Titans offensively in the first featured Luke Knott’s scrambling ability, with quarterback draws, and designed direct snap sweeps.  Senior running back James Ritch took his turn taking snaps, before the Indians built a 14 point lead, forcing the Titans to incorporate the pass, and run a more traditional offense.  Fort Osage would eventually take a 20-0 lead into the locker room at half.

The Titans made a game of it, pulling to within two touchdowns of the Indians late in the third.  Hopes were raised as the defense made not one but two stops due to a fumbled punt, but as the Titans offense started to drive, senior quarterback Zach Harris threw an interception that was returned by Ian Mathis for a touchdown.  Fort Osage scored again after running some clock off, which was answered with a long run by Ritch, but with little time left in the game, the 21 points was too much to overcome.  Final score, Fort Osage Indians 35, Lee’s Summit West Titans 14.  The 1-2 Titans will travel to Raytown to face the 1-2 Blue Jays next Friday.
