Blue Springs Wildcats turn Lee’s Summit West Titans blue

The Lee’s Summit West Titans opened the 2009 high school football season Friday night against the Wildcats of Blue Springs. The rebuilding Titans struggled to find a rhythm against the perennial power house, losing the game 48-13. Miscues early allowed the Wildcats to get out to a lead that proved to be too much for the inexperienced Titans. Titans Head Coach Royce Boehm reminded everyone “we play for the last three weeks of the season,” referring to the district part of their schedule which determines who advances to the playofs. Coach Broehm conceded with such a young team every win is important to building confidence. Lee’s Summit West looks to get that first win again next week against the Truman Patriots at home.
