The City of Lee’s Summit announces an artist reception on July 16 in the lobby of Lee’s Summit City Hall honoring local artist Inez Pennington, an equestrian photographer specializing in dramatic action shots.
Pennington has photographed the largest and most prestigious horse sporting events in the United States and Europe. As the official photographer for both the United States Equestrian Team and the American Grand Prix Association, her photographs have graced the covers and pages of countless national and international magazines. A hunter-jumper rider herself, she competed at the highest national level at Madison Square Garden.
Pennington’s eye for color, composition and unusual lighting, her experimentation with different angles/positions and techniques combined with her own personal knowledge of the sport, all help to form this quintessential expression of the athletic partnership between horse and rider and the essence of the sport horse in the highest strata of competition.
Stop by and meet Inez Pennington and view her artwork anytime from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, at City Hall, 220 SE Green Street. Her artwork will be on display in the lobby until October 9, 2009.
