Lee’s Summit Traffic Safety Officer Recognized

Lee’s Summit police officer Michael Hawkins is to be recognized by the Law Enforcement Traffic Safety Advisory Council (L.E.T.S.A.C.) as the Traffic Safety Officer of the Year. Officer Hawkins earned this traffic safety recognition by his dedication towards impaired driving enforcement and crash reduction in the community. The award will be presented Thursday evening (07-16-09) at the L.E.T.S.A.C. annual conference being held in Lake Ozark, Mo. L.E.T.S.A.C. is the primary traffic law enforcement group under the authority of Missouri Division of Highway Safety and the Department of Public Safety. The L.E.T.S.A.C. organization provides a link between the local law enforcement agencies, including city, county and state, and the Governor’s Highway Safety Office under the Department of Public Safety.
