I-470 Ramp to Route 350 Closing
Posted by GSDispatch Editor in by MoDOT, GSD Online
MoDOT will close the westbound I-470 ramp to westbound Route 350 at 9 p.m. on Friday, July 10 until September 18 to allow realignment of the ramp for the new construction in the area, weather permitting.
A signed detour will be in place during the ramp closure. Traffic will be redirected to continue westbound on I-470 to the next exit at High Drive, south on High Drive under the I-470 Bridge, and return to eastbound I-470 to the westbound Route 350 ramp.
This project includes geometric changes to the I-470/US 50 Interchange with the addition of a half-diamond interchange at Pryor Road, already constructed during the first phase of the committed improvements, and a split-diamond configuration for the interchange including another half-diamond interchange at Blue Parkway along with connector roads joining the two new interchanges, completing the majority of the current improvements. The addition of the split-diamond interchanges will provide access to local street systems at Colbern Road to the north, Chipman Road to the south, Blue Parkway to the east, and Pryor Road to the west. The entire project is scheduled for completion by summer 2010. Pyramid Contractors Inc. is the general contractor of $27 million project.
Inclement weather could postpone the project. For more information about this and other projects in the area, please visit MoDOT’s Web site at www.modot.mo.gov/kansascity.
