Gas prices are rising and donations are down. Please remember your local community in your charity contributions, even a $5 bag of groceries once a month is much appreciated, and tax deductible to you. Your charity dollars are an investment in your community, the nation, and the world, and we would like you to know that if you choose you can get involved with Greenwood Families Helping Families (GWFHF) by donating your time, treasures or talents.

Schools out! Hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far! How about those Greenwood Garage Sales? Hope everyone had a fun day. This is GWFHF’s busy time of year and we sure could use your HELP!
Upcoming events around town:
Greenwood Celebration Day — Fireworks display at Hitt Park, Saturday June 27th. GWFHF will have Cheeseburgers, Hotdogs, Brats, Nachos, Chips, Drinks and more! Come out and have some fun!
GWFHF Fireworks Tent will be back for its 3rd year! June 28th – July 4. Our tent will be held in Raymore this year at 302 Pine St. – next to Sonic on 58 Hwy, the reason for this change is lower costs to the organization. No rent, lower security requirements, etc.
We are in need of volunteers for all of these events; please remember ANY amount of time is appreciated, from a one-time hour, to a specific event or to a couple hours per month. Just give us a call at 816-206-4999. If your teen is responsible and looking for volunteer hours for school, please call us!
PANTRY NEEDS (feel free to drop off at the building in the blue barrels or call 816-206-4999) : Canned Meat/Tuna, Hamburger/Tuna Helper, Cereal or Oatmeal, Granola Bars, Spaghetti Sauce, Spaghetti, Trash bags (all sizes), Toothpaste, Juice, Canned Fruit, Pancake Mix and Syrup, Peanut Butter, Mustard and Ketchup, Crackers, Cleaning supplies and Deodorant.
DID YOU KNOW: GWFHF not only provides food to those who are in need, but furniture, clothing, personal hygiene items, baby diapers and formula are also provided? GWFHF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and all donations are tax deductible.
DON’T FORGET: GWFHF is a proud partner with Angel Food Ministries. Angel Food partners with churches and community organizations throughout the country to help distribute food to those in need. For $30.00 you can receive a box of food containing both fresh and frozen items. Anyone is able to purchase these items for themselves or for someone in need. Call GWFHF at 816-206-4999 to order.
