Greenwood Families Helping Families (GWFHF) was the beneficiary of a successful political fundraiser at Perazelli’s last month.  Candidates for — and eventual winners of — the two Alderman spots in Greenwood hosted and paid for a free Chili dinner, which was open to the public.  Jim Van Acker and Denise Simpson were available during the dinner to visit and interact with residents.  Perazelli’s prepared a traditional red chili and a white chicken chili, which seemed very popular.  Residents were asked to bring non-perishable products for the GWFHF food pantry and/or donations to the complimentary chili dinner.

Over 100 citizens participated in the dinner, but most importantly $900 was raised for GWFHF and a pickup truck load of food was collected for the pantry.  GWFHF continues to function and help families in need thanks to the support of community.  We often read about successful events involving GWFHF and see their fantastic Board operating within the city but the truth is that they need our contributions now more than ever.  If you don’t support GWFHF then please help another local charity with their worthy missions.
